Popular singer Rihanna will not only voice Smurfette, but will also write the soundtrack for the upcoming animated film “The Smurfs” from director Chris Miller. The premiere of the film is scheduled for February 14, 2025. This is reported by go.zvuk.com with reference to The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to Rihanna, the cartoon’s voice cast will feature star actors: Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Nick Kroll, James Corden, Octavia Spencer, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Alex Winter, Billie Lourd, Sholo Maridueña, Kurt Russell and John Goodman.

This is not Rihanna’s first experience working on animation projects. In 2015, she lent her voice to the character in the cartoon “Home.” And in 2022, her song Lift Me Up from the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated for an Oscar.

Fans of the singer are looking forward to Rihanna’s new album. The official release date has not yet been announced, but the singer herself recently admitted that she is ready to return to the studio and work on new music.

There is a possibility that the Smurfs soundtrack will be the singer’s first new material in a long time. After all, almost ten years have passed since the release of her last long-play ANTI in 2016.
