Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit. The press service of the Turkmen parliament reported this.
During the negotiations, the parties emphasized the special role of inter-parliamentary interaction in further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. They discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in this area, including intensifying the work of bilateral parliamentary friendship groups, sharing experience in improving legislation and parliamentary activities.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the next Parliamentary Forum of the States of Central Asia and Russia. The meeting participants noted that this forum makes a significant contribution to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation and contributes to the multilateral development of international relations.
Following the negotiations, Gulmanova and Kosachev expressed confidence in the further successful development and enrichment of effective interparliamentary dialogue with new content for the benefit of the peoples of the two friendly states.
