During the recent state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Seok-yeol to Turkmenistan, the chairman of the largest construction company Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Jung Won-ju, as part of a business delegation, held a number of important meetings with Turkmen officials.
At negotiations with Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, heads of state concerns Turkmengaz, Turkmennebit and Turkmenhimiya, the head of Daewoo E&C noted a favorable investment climate and atmosphere for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries, The Korea Herald reports.
Daewoo E&C has announced its intention to take part in tenders for the construction of two large plants for the production of mineral fertilizers in the cities of Kiyanly and Turkmenabat, as well as in the second phase of the project to create a “smart” city of Arkadag.
It is worth recalling that in November last year, Daewoo E&C opened its branch in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat to operate more efficiently in the fast-growing market of Turkmenistan.
“Turkmenistan has enormous potential for business in various sectors, including the development of new cities, industrial facilities and infrastructure, thanks to its rich natural resources,” emphasized the Chairman of Daewoo E&C. “We are committed to strengthening our position in the Central Asian market by further strengthening friendly relations between our countries after this historic state visit.”
