The forum “Development and future of innovative technologies in Turkmenistan” was held in Ashgabat

The International Conference “Development and future of innovative technologies in Turkmenistan” was held today in Ashgabat, at the International Science and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The forum was timed to coincide with Science Day, which is celebrated in the country on June 12.

The forum, which was held in a hybrid format, was attended by Turkmen scientists, representatives of international organizations, world-famous scientific centers, leading foreign scientific and technological parks, and the media.

According to “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the conference was preceded by an exhibition of digital technologies and innovative projects of the International Science and Technology Park and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) under the motto “Transition to renewable energy sources - the energy of the future”.

During the plenary session, speakers noted that an innovative economy is, in essence, an investment in the continuous qualitative renewal of all economic processes and segments of the national economic complex. And integral components of the infrastructure of such an economy are specialized higher education institutions, research institutions focused on applied purposes, industrial innovation clusters and technological centers for rationalization ideas, proposals, and breakthrough projects.

During the conference, an interested exchange of views was held on potential areas for joint scientific research in the field of digital solutions and intellectual capabilities, the introduction of innovative technologies in the field of education and science, and the digital economy.

The reports presented covered the most pressing theoretical and practical issues in the development of various sectors of the economy – from energy to environmental.

Forum delegates also had the opportunity to take part in the award ceremony for the winners of the “Young Innovators” scientific and creative competition among schoolchildren.

Then the conference continued in 5 sections: “Chemical technologies and ecology”, “Nanotechnologies and energy”, “Technologies for the production of bio-, food and medicines”, “Information, communication and geographical information systems”, “Innovative economics”.
