The head of Turkmenistan wished Marcel Rebelo de Sousa good health, happiness and prosperity, and the entire people of Portugal – peace, further progress and prosperity, TDH reports.
10 June is Portugal Day or Camões Day, Portugal and the Portuguese Communities. The national holiday commemorates the death of the Portuguese poet Luis Camões, who is revered by the Portuguese as the author of the Lusiads, an epic chronicling the history of Portugal and reminiscent of the heyday of the Portuguese Empire.
