An international forum on important areas of the green economy was held in Ashgabat

The international scientific conference “Important directions of the green economy: eco-, nano-, bio- and information technologies” was held on June 9 at the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology.

The forum, dedicated to Science Day, brought together, in addition to Turkmen scientists, teachers, young researchers and representatives of the scientific community from almost 10 countries, TDH reports.

In front of the entrance to the conference hall, an exhibition of innovative projects and technologies presented by students and young teachers of the university was displayed.

A Turkmen white yurt was also built here, where exhibits are presented demonstrating the life of the Turkmen people, the wealth and inexhaustibility of the spring of national culture.
Forum participants were offered national treats. The performance of the musical group “Oguzlar” made a vivid impression on the foreign guests.

The agenda of the current forum includes issues of interaction in priority areas of scientific research and the use of new technologies.

During the plenary session, representatives of well-known scientific centers from Belarus, Turkey, China, Austria, and Japan made welcoming speeches. The guests outlined their vision of the prospects for cooperation and the possibilities of organizing joint projects in such areas as nano- and chemical technologies, energy, biotechnology, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology, genetics, etc.

Particular emphasis, including from Turkmen speakers, was placed on issues such as increasing the efficiency of developments in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals. The national and international practice of using information and communication technologies and intelligent systems in a wide range of areas is considered.

The reports on the legal foundations and prospects for scientific and technological cooperation between Turkmenistan and foreign countries aroused great interest.

Foreign participants of the forum, reaffirming their commitment to further comprehensive expansion and deepening of fruitful cooperation with Turkmen colleagues, exchanged views on ways to build it up in the context of the priorities of national development programs.

The forum delegates expressed the general opinion that Turkmenistan is ready for the most active and active participation in multilateral cooperation on all current issues of the global agenda, primarily in promoting effective “green” solutions.

At the end of the plenary session, the conference continued in sections: “The role of environmental biotechnologies in the green economy”, “The role of nanotechnology in the green economy”, “The role of information technology in the green economy”.

During the forum, the results of the competition of innovative technologies announced by the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan among the country’s youth were summed up, and an award ceremony for the winners was held.
