1. The 12th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission was held in Vienna. More than 70 representatives of government and business circles of both countries took part in the meeting. The parties discussed prospects for increasing cooperation in such areas as innovative technologies in industry, energy, renewable energy sources, environmental projects, waste management, construction, transport infrastructure, services, healthcare, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and agricultural processing.

2. The Turkmen-Emirates business forum will be held in Ashgabat on June 24-25. An agreement to hold the forum was reached during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hameli. The forum will become an important platform for expanding business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries and implementing joint projects in various fields.

3. President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-Yeol will pay a state visit to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan next week. The six-day trip will begin on June 10 and will cover three Central Asian countries. The President will be accompanied by his wife, First Lady Kim Kong Hee.

4. The summer holiday season has started in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. Recently a large group of children from all over the country came here. The first vacationers also flock here, because Avaza is a wonderful place for a family vacation. At their service there are 34 hotels, cottages, recreation centers and health centers of various levels, as well as the “Avaza” sanatorium.

5. George Kourounis, an American researcher known as the “tornado hunter”, took part online in the international scientific conference “Energy Prospects, New Technologies and Environmental Aspects of Hydrocarbon Production”, which was held in Ashgabat from June 5 to 6. In his presentation, the researcher noted the success of Turkmenistan’s efforts to reduce emissions from the “Darvaza” gas crater.

6. The State Railways of the Republic of Türkiye together with the open joint-stock company “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” joined forces in supplying humanitarian cargo to Afghanistan. Turkish humanitarian cargo was reloaded into the carriages of OJSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” at the Etrek station - the main logistics center of the country - and transported to the Afghan railway station Turgundi.

7. Tesla Chairman Robin Denholm called on the company's shareholders to approve a giant compensation package for CEO Elon Musk worth 56 billion USD. This is the second attempt after a Delaware court ruled the first approval was “deeply flawed” and overturned it. Denholm emphasizes that Musk is an extraordinary leader, and Tesla is an extraordinary company, so typical ways to motivate top managers do not work here. He hints that Musk has a choice between Tesla and his many other projects. And if Tesla shareholders do not approve the compensation package, Musk may simply leave.

8. A ceremony was held in Beijing to sign the Agreement on the implementation of the strategic project for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. The event was attended by the heads of state and government of three countries in the format of video messages. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that this railway will become the shortest land route connecting China with the region. In the future, this road will permit access through the promising Trans-Afghan corridor to the markets of South Asia and the Middle East.

9. The ceremony to present the most prestigious award in world football will be held on October 28 in Paris. The “Ballon d'Or” has been awarded annually by France Football since 1956 and is considered the most prestigious award a footballer can receive in recognition of his outstanding achievements and exceptional talent. Nominees for this season's awards will be announced on September 4th. The current winner of the “Ballon d'Or” is Argentinean Lionel Messi.
