The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the State Security Council, Russian Language Day was celebrated in Ashgabat and other news

1. On June 6, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the State Security Council, at which the results of the work of military and law enforcement agencies for January-May of this year were reviewed.

2. By order of the President of Turkmenistan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hydyrov Muhammet Allamyradovich, was reprimanded for improper performance of official duties and shortcomings in his work.

3. By order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a severe reprimand was also given to the head of the State Border Service, commander of the border troops, Nuryev Yazgeldi Bashimovich.

4. Within the framework of the celebration of Russian Language Day and the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and writer A.S. Pushkin a solemn event took place in Ashgabat. Residents of Ashgabat, as well as students of the Joint Turkmen-Russian School, took part in the celebrations. In honor of the holiday, the children read Pushkin's poems in different languages of the world.

5. Within the framework of a working visit to Dashoguz velayat, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented the keys to 200 new passenger buses to the region’s automobile enterprise. The technical base of the “Dashoguzavtoulag” production association has been replenished with new and modern passenger buses of medium and small class, which are designed to provide quality service to the residents of the velayat.

6. The project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF) “Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza” celebrates World Environment Day with a series of presentations and events. Project specialists made presentations at several events held from June 4 to June 12.

7. The World Health Organization reported the world's first confirmed case of human infection with the avian influenza virus, which was fatal. A 59 years old resident of the state of Mexico in Mexico was hospitalized and diagnosed with the virus on May 23. Human infection with avian influenza A(H5N2) is rare but potentially serious. Avian influenza viruses are not usually transmitted from person to person, but people can become infected through direct contact with infected poultry or its meat.

8. Global warming on Earth caused by human activity has accelerated. This is stated in a study by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, published in the journal Earth System Science Data. “Human-caused warming is increasing at an unprecedented rate, reaching 0.26 degrees Celsius per decade during 2014–2023”.

9. The head coach of the Turkmenistan national team Mergen Orazov summed up the results of the meeting with the Uzbekistan team in the 5th round of the second qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. It should be noted that the meeting took place in Tashkent and ended in a victory for the hosts with a score of 3:1. “We tried to play well. I think we lost because of mistakes in defense. I have already said that Uzbekistan does not forgive mistakes. We will continue to work and try to reduce the number of errors”.
