On May 29, a virtual meeting was held between representatives of Indian business and the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat, organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FICCI). The purpose of the event is to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment between India and Turkmenistan.

The webinar was attended by more than 30 top managers, high-ranking company representatives and entrepreneurs from India, representing sectors such as mining, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, banking and construction, reports the Indian diplomatic mission in Ashgabat.

Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat emphasized the attractiveness of the Turkmen market for Indian investors. “India has a natural advantage for interaction with the CIS countries due to their openness to cooperation in business and trade,” she said.

To facilitate contacts between businessmen of the two countries, the Indian Embassy encourages Turkmen enterprises to register on the FICCI B2B portal (https://b2b.ficci.in/register-with-us.php).

This initiative is expected to give a new impetus to economic cooperation between India and Turkmenistan.
