Unique software and hardware in the field of advanced medical technologies were developed by a group of teachers and members of the Young Scientists Council (YSC) of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan in collaboration with German colleagues - Professor Christian Brauweiler and Dr. Tom Schall from the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau.

As reported in the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper, the innovative development solution is based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Raspberry Pi microcomputer.

The project aims to create an affordable and effective medical tool that can accurately assess the level of pain in patients with cognitive impairment, who often have difficulty expressing their feelings, which complicates the diagnosis of their disease and the treatment process.

The new solution permits you to automatically analyze data and provide objective information about a person’s health status.

The user-friendly interface allows healthcare professionals to easily analyze results and make informed decisions.

This invention is intended to significantly improve the quality of care for patients with cognitive impairment.

The partnership between Turkmen and German universities began in 2016 on the basis of a signed Memorandum of Bilateral Cooperation.

German specialists brought their rich experience in the field of artificial intelligence and medical informatics to the implementation of this initiative, and the Turkmen side provided the development and testing of the project’s hardware based on Raspberry Pi.

The development has already been awarded a software patent from the State Service for Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, which confirms its uniqueness and innovativeness and opens up additional opportunities for commercialization and further development of the technology.

In the near future, it is planned to expand the scale of implementation of the technology, as well as its further improvement.

Currently, research is underway to integrate the system with other medical devices and platforms, which will create comprehensive solutions for monitoring and treating various diseases.
