A bright exhibition dedicated to the cultural and historical heritage of Turkey and Turkmenistan was held on the territory of the Joint Turkmen-Turkish School.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, here one could taste Turkmen pilaf and Turkish beans, as well as get acquainted with the cultural traditions and customs of the two countries.

Folk crafts, Turkmen and Turkish national costumes were demonstrated in exhibition tents and stands.

The event opened with the Turkmen folk dance “Kushtdepdi”, which is included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The baton of the holiday was picked up by the traditional Turkish dance “Kashik”, which is translated from Turkish as “spoon”. In it, dancers use small wooden spoons to beat out the rhythm during their performances.

Visitors to the exhibition could taste the dishes that Turkmen and Turkish national cuisines are proud of. Among the treats were hot pilaf, dolma, pishme, Turkish coffee and much more.

The final touch of the exhibition was the demonstration of national costumes and the opportunity to get acquainted with Ahal-Teke horses.

The joint Turkmen-Turkish school is a clear example of the brotherhood of the two countries. The school speaks two languages, and in addition to the school curriculum, they study dance and folklore, the source notes.
