The authorities of the German city of Frankfurt am Main are concerned about the safety of cyclists and decided to turn the 1100-meter-long Grüneburgweg street into a bicycle path. There were 566 traffic signs installed along this short stretch of road, an average of one sign for every two metres. Telegraf.news reports this with reference to Bild.

Among this maze of signs, cyclists are allowed to travel in both directions, motorists have one-way traffic with limited stopping options, and vans are allowed to unload goods at certain times. Not surprisingly, this concentration of signs has caused confusion among road users, and now traffic officials are forced to be on duty on Grüneburgweg every day to regulate traffic.

An unusual idea comes from the ruling Green party.

But that's not the end of the story. This summer, authorities and green supporters plan to turn the remaining 200 meters of the street into a bicycle path, which will add another 100 signs to this road kaleidoscope.
