1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree according to which in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The head of state instructed the hyakimliks of velayats, cities and etraps to organize the presentation in a solemn atmosphere. Earlier, the President of Turkmenistan gave instructions on organizing high-level celebrations dedicated to Victory Day, which will be held on May 9 in Ashgabat and velayats.
2. The GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan for four months of this year was 6,3%. Compared to the same period in 2023, the volume of production in the country increased by 11,4%. Since the beginning of the year, retail trade turnover has increased by 11,1% compared to the same period last year.
3. Registration is open for the International Scientific Conference “Energy Prospects, New Technologies and Environmental Aspects of Hydrocarbon Field Development”, which will take place on June 5-6 in the city of Arkadag. Addressing the meeting participants, the head of state noted that summer holidays for schoolchildren and labor holidays for citizens of the country will begin in the near future. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed responsible leaders to carefully prepare for the summer season, providing adequate conditions for recreation for the population.
5. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus invite everyone to a special screening of the feature film “Brest Fortress”. The event is dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory. The screening of the legendary film telling about the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress in the first days of the war will take place on May 6, 2024 at 18:00 at the Ashgabat cinema. Admission to the show is free for everyone.
6. The results of the annual pedagogical competitions “Teacher of the Year” and “Educator of the Year” were summed up in Ashgabat. The honorary title “Teacher of the Year - 2024” was awarded to Jennet Annamammedova, a primary school teacher from specialized school №. 29 in the city of Dashoguz. The title “Teacher of the Year – 2024” was awarded to Guljahan Kuliyeva from kindergarten № 103 in Ashgabat. She distinguished herself by using advanced play techniques in educating preschoolers.

Seeds of a non-existent flower called Cats Eye Dazzle are already available for purchase on legal online platforms. The first photos of these flowers appeared on one of the social networks. Attractive in appearance, the plants really look like cat faces with black eyes and nose. Previously unknown, these charming flowers immediately captivated users. However, the chances of raising these “cats” are almost zero.
8. Warner Bros. Studios and New Line Cinema have officially confirmed work on the fourth part of the spy comedy Austin Powers. The director's chair will again be taken by Jay Roach, director of the previous films in the series, as well as such films as “Meet the Parents”, “Dinner with Morons” and “Trumbo”. Turkmen judokas continue to gain points in qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, competing at major international tournaments.
