At the International Forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan in Paris, Chairman of the State Corporation “Turkmengeology” Gurbangeldi Garlyev presented an overview of the country’s mineral resource base and declared his readiness to cooperate with foreign partners in the exploration and development of mineral resources, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
According to Garlyev, Turkmenistan has significant reserves of various solid minerals, including thermal and brown coals, iron ores, bentonites, marble, rock salt and many others. "Turkmengeology" plans to increase work to replenish the mineral resource base to meet the country's growing needs for high-quality raw materials.
The corporation is actively introducing modern drilling equipment and is ready to attract foreign companies to the exploration and production of mineral resources in Turkmenistan on a mutually beneficial basis. Over the years of independence, Turkmen geologists have prepared more than a hundred new deposits for industrial development.
The Chairman of Turkmengeology expressed hope that the forum will become a platform for establishing new partnerships with investors for the further development of the country’s mineral resource complex.
