The International Investment Forum to attract investments in the energy sector of Turkmenistan (TEIF 2024), launched in Paris, is designed to expand opportunities for attracting foreign direct investment in all segments of the industry.
Ashyrguly Begliyev, adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues, stated this while speaking at the event, Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
“The goal of the Forum is to expand opportunities to attract foreign direct investment in all segments of the energy industry of Turkmenistan related to the production, transportation and refining of oil and gas, the production of renewable energy sources, transportation, construction, as well as environmental aspects of the development of hydrocarbon fields”, - Begliyev said.
Begliyev noted the prospects for investor participation in the development of the largest gas field “Galkynysh”, the development of the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, petrochemical and gas chemical projects, the construction of an underground gas storage facility and other infrastructure.
The priority forms of cooperation with foreign partners were service contracts, the creation of joint ventures and the implementation of “turnkey” projects. Particular attention will be paid to environmental aspects and reduction of methane emissions.
“Among the main factors of the growing attractiveness of Turkmenistan for foreign investors is the stable economic and political situation in the country, as well as the legislative framework and state guarantee”, - said the adviser to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and gas issues.
