Canadian researchers have unveiled the world's fastest camera, capable of capturing events at 156 trillion frames per second.

This revolutionary development, based on new optical technology, uses an ultra-fast laser pulse to create more than a hundred frames at a time.

Thanks to this, the camera opens up unprecedented possibilities for studying ultrafast phenomena that occur in femtoseconds (quadrillionths of a second).

Potential applications for this technology range from the development of new computer memory technologies to ultrasound treatments. This was reported by MIR 24 with reference to Nature Communications.
