President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the digital system with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and velayat hyakims. The meeting discussed issues of development of the agricultural industry, as well as the progress of seasonal field work in the country, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The velayat khyakims reported on the situation on farmland. It was noted that cotton sowing continues in the regions, the necessary measures are being taken to ensure timely sowing and effective use of agricultural machinery. In areas with seedlings, inter-row cultivation and care of crops are carried out in accordance with agrotechnical requirements.
Along with this, within the framework of the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan to increase the production of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops, as well as to provide the population with these products, the regions are actively planting and caring for the seedlings of these crops.
In Balkan and Dashoguz velayats, work is being carried out to conclude contracts with cocoon producers, in Ahal, Lebap and Mary velayats - to care for silkworms.
Measures are being taken to develop horse breeding, increase the number of animals and preserve the purity of the famous Akhal-Teke horses. Preparations are underway for celebrations dedicated to the National Turkmen Horse Day, which is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of April.
Summing up the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure strict control over sowing cotton and caring for wheat crops within the established agrotechnical timeframes.
The head of state focused on the importance of seasonal agricultural work, instructing the timely sowing and care of spring crops to be kept under control.
The President of Turkmenistan also emphasized the importance of popularizing the famous Ahal-Teke horses and ordered to ensure a high organizational level of celebrations dedicated to the National Turkmen Horse Day.
