Turkmen tomatoes are strengthening their position in foreign markets. In January-March 2024, the volume of their exports increased by 3% compared to the same period in 2023, which indicates a growing demand for Turkmen agricultural products abroad, writes the MIC.
The main importers of Turkmen tomatoes are the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic. At the same time, deliveries to Kazakhstan showed particularly impressive dynamics - the volume of tomatoes sent there increased by 20% in the first quarter of 2024.
Turkmenistan is increasing its export of tomatoes every year. For the period from 2020 to 2023, the increase was 239%. In 2023, domestic exporters sold 128 thousand tons of tomatoes on foreign markets, which is 3.4 times more than in 2020. The main export destinations are Russia (57%) and Kazakhstan (28%).
