A three-day workshop to increase capacity and knowledge in the field of women's reproductive rights was held at the Office of the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the UN Population Fund Office.

According to the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, the seminar was attended by representatives of the Committee on Social Policy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, public organizations, as well as employees of the Ombudsman’s Office.

The training was conducted by UNFPA international consultant Yanina Arsenyeva, who facilitated a discussion of a range of issues related to women’s reproductive rights, the specifics of providing reproductive health services to people with disabilities, and compliance with international law by organizations and institutions when providing reproductive health services.

Participants noted the positive experience and achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of protecting women’s reproductive health and promoting gender equality.

The event was another evidence of the successful implementation of the National Action Plan for Gender Equality for 2021-2025, the source notes.
