On March 26, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels held a meeting with students and teachers of the University of Lille, one of the prestigious universities in France, the press service of the diplomatic mission reports.

Ambassador Sapar Palvanov gave a detailed briefing in which he highlighted Turkmenistan's priorities in the field of public diplomacy. He stressed that the country uses both traditional and innovative methods to promote its rich cultural heritage and progressive policies in Europe.

The ambassador spoke about the active work of the embassy on social networks and its openness to cooperation with European media. He noted that this strategy allows for increased transparency of the embassy’s work and creates a deeper understanding of the public values and priorities of Turkmenistan.

One of the key tools of Turkmenistan’s public diplomacy is the accreditation system for media platforms. It allows journalists from different countries to cover events taking place in Turkmenistan, which helps improve the international image of the country.

Palvanov also mentioned the publication of books, such as the recent work by the President of Turkmenistan on the city of Anau, which in 2024 became the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

In addition, the ambassador spoke about various initiatives aimed at popularizing Turkmen culture, such as the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi. Also at the briefing, videos were presented showing cultural exhibitions and events organized by the embassy.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador held a quiz that allowed students to test their knowledge about Turkmenistan.
