President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to keep under strict control the organized and timely sowing of cotton, as well as to ensure proper care of wheat crops and organized preparation for the season of production of silkworm cocoons, during a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and velayat hyakims, reports the State Information Agency agency of Turkmenistan.
As noted, in Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayats, cotton sowing has begun, and preparations for sowing are underway in Dashoguz velayat. Measures are being taken to ensure timely implementation of this campaign and effective use of agricultural machinery.
In the regions, wheat fields are also maintained in accordance with agrotechnical standards, including fertilizing and watering. At the same time, preparations are underway for the wheat harvest, grain reception points and elevators.
In addition, in order to increase the volume of production of potatoes and other vegetable and melon crops in the country and provide them to the population, their sowing continues in the agricultural areas of the regions.
Work is also underway to prepare silkworm eggs and conclude contracts between velayat organizations of silk producers and silkworm breeders in anticipation of the cocoon production season.
