In Shanghai, a 205-kilometer highway in the Pudong region, designed for self-driving cars, opened in test mode. It uses the latest 5G-A communication standard, which allows drones to navigate safely in all weather conditions. TASS reports this with reference to “Itzai Global”.
Unlike 5G, 5G-A offers faster data speeds, lower latency, and more precise positioning, making self-driving cars more reliable and safer.
Currently, over 2000 km of roads in Shanghai are equipped for testing driverless cars. 32 companies have received licenses to commercially operate self-driving taxis, buses and trucks. A total of 794 unmanned vehicles are being tested on the city's roads.
