The President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting on agricultural issues

The progress of agricultural work in the regions of the country, preparations for the landscaping campaign, as well as for the spring sowing campaign were discussed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a working meeting on the digital system, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahallyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, and the hyakims of the velayats.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, during the meeting, heads of velayat administrations reported on the work being carried out in the regions to prepare for the sowing season.

As noted, currently, vegetation irrigation is carried out in wheat fields in accordance with agricultural technology standards. In order to carry out the cotton sowing within the agrotechnical terms, leveling and land surveying of the fields continues. Measures are being taken to prepare agricultural machinery and units that will be used in the upcoming season, as well as quality seeds for cotton growers.

At the same time, the planting of potatoes and onions continues in the regions, and irrigation has begun in the sown areas.

Preparations are underway for the nationwide greening campaign of areas for planting trees and seedlings, scheduled for March 16.

After listening to the report, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the importance of the current responsible agricultural season and the proper organization of work. In this regard, the head of state ordered to keep under strict control compliance with agrotechnical standards when caring for wheat, preparing areas for sowing cotton and supplying farmers with high-quality seed material.

Addressing the participants of the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to organize a nationwide greening campaign at a high level, as well as ensure that sowing of vegetable and melon crops is carried out in accordance with agricultural technology standards.
