A delegation of the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology is visiting the State Reference Center of the Main State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” in Ashgabat from March 4 to 8, the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” reports.
The purpose of the visit is to implement a joint program of scientific and technical cooperation in the field of metrology, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2021.
Earlier, specialists from the two countries held online meetings at which they discussed the capabilities of existing equipment, calibration techniques for various types of measurements, including temperature, pressure, mass, force, volumes and electrical quantities, as well as the results achieved in these areas.
The current face-to-face meeting is being held with the support of the project of the German Institute of Physics and Technology RTV “Strengthening the quality infrastructure in the countries of Central Asia.” In the future, it is planned to exchange information, mutual visits of experts for joint seminars, meetings and exchange of experience.
The Interaction of metrological institutes of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will facilitate the implementation of joint projects and will positively affect preparations for international accreditation in accordance with international standards.
The State Reference Center ”Turkmenstandartlary” provides the country’s national economy with a unified system of measurements and control of measuring instruments, which is important for trade, resource accounting, quality of products and services, development of technology and medicine.
