The main reference center of Turkmenistan is preparing to receive a delegation of colleagues from Uzbekistan. In 2021, a Memorandum of Understanding on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of metrology and exchange of experience was signed between the metrological institutes of the two countries, reports Vestiabad.ru.
Within the framework of this Memorandum, a working meeting with the Uzbek delegation will be held in the Turkmen center from March 4 to March 8, 2024. The purpose of the visit is to interact and build the technical potential of the institutes, exchange experience in organizing metrological work, introducing calibration services for measuring pressure and electrical quantities.
In the future, mutual visits of experts, joint seminars, development of calibration methods, interlaboratory comparisons on pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements are planned. This will improve the quality of the center’s preparation for international accreditation according to ISO/IEC 17025.
Previously, interlaboratory comparisons on thermometry and calibration of scales had already been carried out. Participation in such comparisons is one of the steps towards obtaining international accreditation in all necessary areas, which is the key goal of the Turkmen center.
Close cooperation between metrology institutes of countries contributes to the improvement of industrial safety control methods. Metrological measurements are of great importance for trade, resource accounting, quality assurance of products and services, development of technology and medicine. The exchange of knowledge and experience is important for the progress of the young metrological institute of Turkmenistan.
