The auction house Heritage Auctions in the United States has put up for sale a prop from the film “Titanic” - the door on which Rose escaped. The starting price of the lot is 40 000 USD. MIR 24 reports this.
It is worth noting that this is not just an ordinary door. It is part of an ornate door frame in the Louis XV style.
“This intricately carved prop, based on the most famous intact piece of wreckage salvaged from the 1912 tragedy, bears a striking resemblance to a Louis XV style panel located in the Maritime Museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia,” the auction website states.
The auction also includes a ship's wheel, Rose's dress, and orange life buoys.
