On March 2-3, a tournament for young big racket masters will be held on the courts of the Ashgabat Tennis Academy, timed to coincide with the celebration of World Tennis Day, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
Boys and girls under 8 years of age will take part in the competition. The organizers were the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Tennis Academy.
The purpose of the tournament is to popularize a healthy lifestyle and attract children to play tennis.
World Tennis Day has been celebrated since 2013 at the initiative of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). It is held annually on the first Monday of March. This holiday is designed to promote tennis as a sport throughout the world.
