A group of volunteers in the US state of Colorado took on the difficult task of cleaning the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater from deposits of chewing gum left by careless visitors. 22 kilograms of sticky “garbage” have accumulated under the seats of the amphitheater, reports daily.afisha.ru with reference to Fox31.

“Chewing gum is even prohibited on the territory of the amphitheater, but who stops? People carry it in their wallets and pockets”, - complains volunteer Pia Valeriana.

In addition to gum, the list of prohibited items at Red Rocks includes umbrellas, megaphones and alcohol.

“This is disrespect for this miracle of nature, which we want to preserve in its original form. We just want people to realize this and not take this place for granted”, - adds Valeriana.

The cleanup of the amphitheater was carried out by the non-profit organization Friends of Red Rocks, which aims to “preserve the magic” of this place.

Over the past year, Friends of Red Rocks removed 186 kilograms of general trash and 92 kilograms of recyclables from the amphitheater grounds.
