A solemn meeting of passengers of the first flight of “Turkmenistan” Airlines in the direction Ashgabat - Jeddah was held at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The passenger plane was met by the deputy head of the airline N. Kakabayev and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan O. Charyev, together with representatives of the Saudi Arabian authorities.
The new route is designed to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia, and will also serve as an additional incentive for the development of trade and tourism.
Within the framework of the opening of the flight, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia and official representatives of the Kingdom’s civil aviation. The parties highly appreciated the current level of bilateral relations and expressed confidence that the launch of direct flights will serve as a “bridge of friendship” between the countries.
