1. At the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to keep prices and the supply of markets and retail outlets in the country with consumer goods under constant control. The head of state emphasized that measures should be continued to provide the country’s population with quality food products.

2. In Turkmenistan, GDP grew by 6.3% in January. The volume of production increased by 8,2% compared to the same period last year. There was also a significant increase in retail turnover, wages and capital investment. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported about this during the Government meeting.

3. On February 17, frosts, rain with snow and ice on the roads are expected in all regions of Turkmenistan. In Ashgabat, the weather will be changeable, cloudy, and rain and snow are possible. 4. Turkmenistan has fully fulfilled its contractual obligations for the supply of natural gas to the Russian Federation. In general, the Russian diplomat highly appreciated the current level of development of political and economic relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Qatar and the rector of the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev took part in the opening ceremony of the international show jumping tournament “Sword of the Emir”, which is taking place these days in Doha. The three-day “Sword of the Emir” equestrian tournament is one of the most significant events in the Qatari national calendar. Three show jumping competitions will be held here every day - the championship will include stages at different heights of obstacles and dressage.

6. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Yerevan Muhammetgeldi Ayazov and the Chairman of the Union of Artists of Armenia Suren Safaryan discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of art. The parties discussed issues of popularizing works of art of the two countries, organizing joint exhibitions and other events.

7. Turkmen Airlines has opened a new air service between Ashgabat and Kuala Lumpur. According to the schedule of “Turkmenistan” Airlines, flights from Ashgabat to Kuala Lumpur will depart on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The return flight from Malaysia to Turkmenistan is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.

8. Kazakhstan will carry out a large-scale modernization of checkpoints on the border with Turkmenistan, China and Uzbekistan to develop transit potential and increase trade turnover. Modernization includes the construction of new checkpoints to replace outdated infrastructure.

9. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed all officials of the country to master several foreign languages within a year. The head of state emphasized that proficiency in the Tajik language at a high level is an important task for every civil servant, and knowledge of two more foreign languages at a similar level is a necessary condition for effective work.

10. Another sparring partner of “Arkadag” became known during the training camp in the UAE.
