At a government meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave instructions to provide the population with high-quality and affordable food products, TDH reports.
As Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev reported, in January 2024, compared to the same period last year, there was an increase in trade turnover by 6.1%, production of consumer goods by 1.2%.
The volume of production of the textile industry increased by 0.6%, clothing and knitwear - by 3.4%, leather products - by 12.2%. Carpet production exceeded the plan by 4.5%.
26 trading sessions were held at the commodity and raw materials exchange, about 2 thousand contracts were concluded. The volume of work of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry increased by 5.7%; according to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the production of agricultural and food products in January increased by 3.4%, industrial production - 4.6%.
After hearing the report, the head of state instructed to strengthen control over prices in stores and markets in order to provide the population with high-quality and affordable food products.
