On Thursday, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the Day of the country's diplomatic workers was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
According to CentralAsia.news, young diplomats and service veterans were honored during the event.
Representatives of public organizations, university faculty, students and journalists attended the celebration as guests.
Vice-Rector of the IIR Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gulshat Yusupova noted in her welcoming speech:
- Thanks to the open door policy, as well as the far-sighted and wise leadership of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is consistently implementing foreign policy cooperation, which is based on the status of permanent positive neutrality.
She also emphasized that great demands are placed on the diplomatic corps of Turkmenistan, therefore the most effective tools of political diplomacy are involved in the work.
Traditionally, a solemn ceremony of presenting gifts to young diplomats and senior students on behalf of the country’s Democratic Party was held on the stage of the conference hall.
Gratitude was expressed to the country's experienced diplomats. For their great contribution to strengthening state independence, the foundations of neutrality and the implementation of foreign policy, five veterans of the diplomatic service were presented with valuable gifts, the source notes.
