1. The resolution of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the decision of the general meeting of shareholders of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank “Halkbank” to elect Jepbarov Myratgeldi Jepbarovich as chairman of the board of this bank.

2. In the Ahal velayat of Turkmenistan, a ceremony was held to present a prize of 1 million USD to the Ak Bugday etrap, which won the competition for the best etrap in the country in 2023. During the ceremony, on behalf of all residents of the etrap, sincere gratitude was expressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his tireless concern for improving the well-being of the people, the enormous attention paid to the socio-economic development of the country, and the formation of modern infrastructure in the velayats.

3. Within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the negotiations, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. The development of relations between the countries and a confidential dialogue at the highest level was noted.

4. A delegation of the Chinese company Hainan Weidu International Travel visited Turkmenistan to meet with representatives of leading industry departments in the field of tourism. Representatives of the company presented two promising projects developed within the framework of the “One Belt - One Road” initiative, and also offered to organize tours for Turkmen citizens to Hainan Island, and visits to Turkmenistan by Chinese tourists.

5. Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Ruzbahani announced plans to further strengthen economic ties between the countries. He said this during a festive reception at the Iranian Embassy dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. According to the diplomat, Turkmenistan is one of Iran's main partners in the region. Trade turnover between the states reached about 470 million USD.

During an unscheduled inspection, Italian aviation authorities found that the seat cushions in some rows of the plane were too thick. This could prevent the evacuation of passengers in case of emergency. To fix the problem, the flight was delayed for more than an hour.

8. According to the results of the first round of the ninth Turkmenistan hockey championship of the 2024 season, the leader of the standings was “Galkan”, the eight-time champion of the country. The team scored 15 points. “Shir” is in second place with 12 points. “Oguzhan” closes the top three with 9 points. The best scorer of the championship was “Galkan” forward Begench Dovletmyradov, who scored 9 goals. As previously reported, the Turkmenistan national team is preparing for the upcoming World Hockey Championship in the third division of group “A”, which will be held from March 8 to 16 in Bishkek.

9. The head coach of the Turkmenistan youth football team, Ahmed Agamuradov, is undergoing an internship at the Namangan football club “Navbakhor” from February 9 to 15. This internship is part of an experienced professional's training to obtain a PRO coaching license. During the week, Agamuradov will study the specifics of training young football players at “Navbakhor”, get acquainted with the training process of teams of different ages and exchange experiences with the club’s coaching staff.
