A touching event happened in the United States: 90 years old twin sisters Maurilia Chavez and Andrea Lopez, separated 81 years ago, finally met again. News.ru reports this with reference to Metro.

They were separated when they were only five years old. After the death of their parents, the girls were sent to live with different families. The last time they saw each other was when they were nine.

“It was like I was seeing her for the first time in my life, because 81 years is too long. I remember very little”, - shares Andrea Lopez.

As fate would have it, the women were reunited thanks to a DNA test that established their relationship on Thanksgiving Day. Wasting no time, Andrea, who lives in Las Vegas, booked a plane ticket to Denver to meet her long-lost sister.

“I am the happiest person in the world because I never thought I would be able to see her again. I was single, I have a wonderful family, but what I really needed was my sister”, - says Maurilia Chavez.
