The Australian Senate has approved the first reading of a bill giving workers the right not to respond to calls and messages from their superiors after hours. Employers will be fined for violating this rule. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to Reuters.

According to the government, the bill will protect workers' rights and help restore work-life balance.

“We're just saying that a person who isn't getting paid 24 hours a day shouldn't be penalized if they're not online and available after work”, - Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said.
