2023 has been a phenomenally successful year for Türkiye’s tourism industry. The country, being one of the leaders in world tourism, received 56,7 million foreign visitors, which is 10% more than in 2022, reports musava.biz.
Tourism revenue also showed impressive growth, rising 17% to 54,3 billion USD. The average spending of tourists per night reached 99 USD.
In addition to beach holidays, Türkiye has established itself as a popular destination for cultural tourism, art tourism, food tours, cycling routes and pilgrimages.
In 2024, the country ambitiously plans to attract 60 million tourists and generate 60 billion USD from the tourism industry.
The Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism stated:
“We are proud of the record performance in 2023. This is the result of the coordinated work of the government, travel companies and everyone involved in this field. We will continue to develop infrastructure, improve the quality of services and promote Türkiye as a unique and diverse destination for travelers from all over the world”.
