On January 22, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on agriculture and regional development. Preparations for spring sowing, care of arable lands, and land reclamation were discussed.
The head of state ordered to keep under constant control compliance with agricultural technology standards when caring for wheat fields, cultivating areas for cotton, as well as the procurement of selected seed material for farmers, preparation for sowing potatoes and other crops.
At the same time, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of fulfilling the tasks defined in the National Rural Program for the current year and maintaining uninterrupted electricity, gas and water supplies to the population.
On January 26, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers took place. Issues of improving legislation, digitalization of the economy, development of industry and infrastructure were considered. These include the preparation of an image of the national trademark “Made in Turkmenistan”, the intensification of the work of Trading Houses of Turkmenistan in foreign countries.
It was reported that events were being prepared to mark the announcement of the motto
2024 “The Fount of the Mind of Magtymguly Fragi” and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet, the opening of social facilities, as well as the upcoming reconstruction of the capital’s park “15 years of independence of Turkmenistan” with an area of 50 hectares.
In addition, information was given about the ongoing work on the production of new types of petroleum products at the oil refineries of the State Concern “Turkmennebit”.
Thus, the range of goods produced in the country that are in demand in the domestic and global markets will be supplemented by Hydro Plus diesel fuel, intended for jet diesel engines in extreme cold conditions. In addition, the Turkmen Oil Refinery Plant has launched the production of motor oil of the SAE 50 API CF-4 brand for powerful diesel engines in cars and installations at high temperatures.
It was reported about the implementation of programs to preserve the country's flora and fauna for future generations, their scientific study and restoration.
In addition, in state nature reserves and state reserves, research work is carried out to preserve wild animals, birds migrating and wintering in our country, and to count the number of representatives of rare species of fauna.
The head of state was presented with economically beneficial proposals analyzed by the intersectoral commission to ensure the effectiveness of scientific research in Turkmenistan, which will contribute to the innovative development of the state.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the widespread introduction of modern technologies and the digital system in various sectors of the national economy and conducting relevant research in this direction, giving a number of specific instructions.
It was reported on the ongoing activities to modernize the transport infrastructure of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, on the expansion of the maritime fleet, on the increase in cargo traffic in the International Seaport of Turkmenbashy and on the measures being taken to join Turkmenistan to the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
At the Government meeting, the results of the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Japan on January 21–24, which took place on behalf of the head of state, were considered.
On January 27, Turkmenistan solemnly celebrated the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the military personnel and noted the strengthening of the country's defense capability.
Other events of the past week included meetings with the ambassadors of Switzerland and Japan, during which issues of intensifying cooperation were discussed.
Last week, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting at which issues of developing the younger generation and strengthening their place in society in the Year of Magtymguly were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the issues of organizing a meeting with the elders in the near future, as well as the topics that will be discussed within its framework.
In addition, the National Leader of the Turkmen people met with the leaders of the consulting company Goetzpartners Emerging Markets GmbH, which won the international tender for the provision of consulting services for the creation of a medical cluster in the city of Arkadag.
An international medical cluster plans to produce various types of environmentally friendly, high-quality medical products not only for the domestic market, but also for export.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag and the German consulting company.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to ensure the implementation of Turkmenistan’s international obligations in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law with the participation of representatives of the Mejlis, a number of ministries and sectoral departments, and public organizations of the country.
Thus, last week issues of socio-economic development and international cooperation were actively discussed in Turkmenistan.
