Results of the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on January 26

On January 26, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, at which topical issues of development of key sectors of the economy and social sphere of the country were discussed. In particular, during the meeting the topics of development of the fuel and energy complex, construction, trade, science, environmental protection, transport, international cooperation and agriculture were touched upon.

Fuel and Energy Complex

The Turkmenbashy oil processing complex has launched the production of Hydro Plus diesel fuel. It is designed for jet diesel engines in extreme cold. In addition, production of a new SAE 50 API CF-4 motor oil has begun. It is used on automotive and industrial diesel engines that operate at high temperatures.

Construction

In Ashgabat, the square “15 years of independence of Turkmenistan” is being reconstructed, the area of which is 50 hectares. On this territory it is planned to build two overpasses, bicycle paths, swimming pools, canopies in the recreation area, covered parking lots, and install new street lighting. Additional landscaping work will also be carried out.

Trade

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Atdayev, who oversees trade in the Government, to improve the work of the country’s trading houses abroad. This should be achieved through competent organization of advertising activities.

An interdepartmental working group in Turkmenistan has completed the selection of image options for the national trademark “Made in Turkmenistan”. The Regulations on the National Trademark were also prepared.

The science

The Intersectoral Commission to Ensure the Effectiveness of Scientific Research in Turkmenistan presented a number of cost-effective proposals for the innovative development of the country. The proposals were developed based on an analysis of the technologies being developed to expand the production of import-substituting products.

Environmental activities

Turkmen scientists are conducting experiments on growing Turkmen juniper, dagdan tree and pistachio trees in scientific experimental areas. The possibility of growing rare and valuable plant species that are found only in specially protected natural areas is also being assessed.

In addition, representatives of the Ministry of Environmental Protection are working to preserve wild animals and birds that winter in Turkmenistan or migrate through the country. Records are kept and the number of rare animals is calculated.

Transport

Turkmenistan is working to join the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The purpose of this work is to simplify maritime shipping and traffic procedures according to international standards, as well as improve trade relations with foreign partners.

The international cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the working visit of the country’s delegation to Japan. “As a result of the working visit, documents were signed aimed at further enhancing multifaceted Turkmen-Japanese cooperation that meets common interests”, - the report said.

Agriculture

Preparations for cotton sowing continue in the fields in the regions of Turkmenistan. To do this, plowing, leveling and leveling of land is carried out. The wheat fields are also being tended. Irrigation canals and drainage networks are being cleaned in the velayats.
