Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with the new Ambassador of Switzerland to Turkmenistan (with residence in Baku) Thomas Staehli.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, Myahri Byashimova congratulated Thomas Staehli on his appointment as ambassador and wished him success in his diplomatic activities.
The prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation were discussed at the meeting. The parties noted their interest in intensifying political dialogue, holding inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs consultations and updating the legal framework.
The diplomats spoke in favor of expanding trade and economic ties, strengthening contacts between the business circles of the two countries, holding business forums and organizing business missions.
In addition, issues of humanitarian cooperation, gender equality and interaction in the field of water resources management were discussed.
