A meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran Javad Ovji was held in Ashgabat, TDH reports.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed. The parties noted with satisfaction the high level of relations between the countries, based on the traditions of friendship and good neighborliness.
Relations are successfully developing both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, including within the framework of international organizations. This is facilitated by regular meetings and consultations at different levels.
Turkmenistan and Iran fruitfully cooperate in trade, energy, transport, communications, construction, and agriculture. Ties between private companies are strengthening.
Particular attention was paid to interaction in the oil and gas sector.
“I believe that the exchange of views between specialists in this field will be useful for finding new forms and methods of cooperation and their practical implementation,” the head of state emphasized, expressing the readiness of the Turkmen side to consider all proposals from Iranian partners to expand cooperation. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in the further development of constructive interstate dialogue.
