In the first matches of the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup, which is taking place in Qatar, the teams of the Republic of Korea, Iraq and Jordan won victories.
The Republic of Korea team beat the Bahrain team with a score of 3:1. In another group E match, Jordan defeated Malaysia 4-0. In group D, Iraq defeated Indonesia 3:1. Earlier in this group, the Japanese beat Vietnam 4:2.
The 2023 Asian Cup was originally supposed to be held in China, but the country pulled out of organizing the tournament due to the pandemic.
Let us remind that in the opening match, the Qatar national team defeated Lebanon (3:0). Also in the opening matches, Australia defeated India 2:0, Uzbekistan drew with Syria 0:0, Tajikistan shared points with China 0:0, Japan defeated Vietnam 4:2, and the UAE defeated Hong Kong 3:1. In addition, Japan beat Vietnam (4:2), and Iran defeated Palestine (4:1).
The first round will end with two matches on Tuesday: Saudi Arabia will meet with Oman, and Kyrgyzstan will play against Thailand.
