The main New Year tree of Turkmenistan, 44 meters high, installed on the square of the “Alem” cultural and entertainment center in Ashgabat, became the tallest in the CIS.
This was reported by the tourism portal “TurStat”, which presented a rating of the highest main New Year trees in the Commonwealth.
The New Year tree in Ashgabat has been recognized as the tallest in the CIS for the fourth year in a row, and each time it gets taller.
4 thousand toys and 55 thousand LED light bulbs were used to decorate the main New Year tree of Turkmenistan. It itself is constructed from natural fir branches brought from Siberia.
The top ten rankings also included Christmas trees in Yerevan (37 m), Tashkent (35 m), Baku (34 m), Bishkek (32 m), Minsk (30 m), Dushanbe (30 m), Moscow (25 m), Astana (25 m) and Almaty (20 m).
The rating of the “TurStat” portal was compiled based on the results of studies of the height of the central New Year trees in all capitals of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
