Turkmenistan Airlines has restored direct flights between Ashgabat and Bangkok, the Watan news program reported. The first plane of the national air carrier departed from the Turkmen capital to Thailand on December 22.
Regular flights Ashgabat - Bangkok - Ashgabat on Fridays and Sundays will be operated by a modern Boeing 777-300 purchased by the Turkmenistan Agency.
The new aircraft has a high level of comfort and is designed for 368 passengers. It is capable of covering a distance of 11 390 kilometers, reaching a speed of 905 kilometers per hour.
The resumption of direct regular flights between the capitals of Turkmenistan and Thailand will expand the opportunities for business and tourist travel between the two countries, and will also serve to further strengthen trade and economic ties of Turkmenistan with the countries of Southeast Asia.
