In Turkmenistan, the construction of a road bridge across the Garabogaz Bay is in full swing. It will become part of the “North-South” transport corridor, connecting the internal highway with the port of Turkmenbashy, writes the “Turkmenistan” newspaper.
Work started in the summer of 2022. The bridge is designed to accommodate heavy vehicles weighing up to 40-50 tons. The project provides for 8 supports installed on 209 concrete piles.
According to the contractor, 6 reinforced concrete supports have already been erected, as well as 3 metal and 4 reinforced concrete spans. All work is carried out according to the approved schedule.
The length of the bridge should be more than 200 meters, and the total length, including the supply roads, should be 2 kilometers.
Completion of construction is scheduled for June 2024. The new bridge will close the “golden ring” of the transport and logistics infrastructure of Turkmenistan, integrating the country’s roads into the regional transport system, writes the “Turkmenistan” newspaper.
