Carlos Queiroz has left his post as head coach of the Qatar national football team, reports the press service of the Qatar Football Association (QFA).
The Portuguese specialist has led the team since February 2023. His contract was valid until the 2026 World Cup.
– QFA expresses its sincere gratitude to Queiroz for his dedication during his tenure. “We wish him all the best in his future career”, - the message says.
The new head coach of the Qatar national team is the Spaniard Bartolome Marques Lopez, who also heads the Qatari club “Al-Wakrah”.
In November, Qatar won two victories in the second round of World Cup qualifying, defeating Afghanistan (8:1) and India (3:0).
