A Turkmen-Turkish business forum was held in Ashgabat, at which business representatives from the two countries discussed prospects for cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, transport and energy, TDH reports.
One of the key issues of discussion was the development of the historical Great Silk Road. As Selcuk Ozturk, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of Turkey, noted, the restoration of this important transport artery will create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the region.
President of the Turkey-Turkmenistan Business Council Mahmut Er emphasized the importance of the forum for the business community of the two countries. He noted that the event allowed businessmen to get to know each other’s capabilities and discuss specific cooperation projects.
Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Çalyk Holding group of companies, Ahmet Chalyk, expressed confidence that business representatives of the two countries will continue to work to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The Turkmen side provided information to the forum participants about the economic development of the country and promising areas of cooperation.
During the forum, a number of documents were signed aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
A more specific discussion of joint projects and further areas of interaction took place during bilateral meetings of representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the country with Turkish colleagues.
