In India, a rescue operation has been completed to rescue workers trapped under the rubble of a collapsed road tunnel in the state of Uttarakhand. All 41 people were rescued alive and unharmed, writes pravilamag.ru with reference to the BBC.

The tunnel collapse occurred on November 12 at a depth of 4.5 km. The workers were trapped in the blocked area for 17 days.

Rescuers began work immediately after the collapse. They drilled a hole in the rubble and began supplying the workers with food, water and oxygen. To rescue the workers, rescuers laid a concrete pipe through the rubble. In addition, they manually dismantled the wreckage.

More than 100 people took part in the rescue operation.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated everyone involved in the operation on its success. He also noted the courage and patience of the workers and their relatives.
