Turkmen athlete Dinara Rozykulova won a gold medal at the 2023 World Kurash Wrestling Championships in Ashgabat, a Turkmenportal correspondent reports.
Rozykulova brought the first gold to the Turkmenistan team. She achieved this success in the weight category up to 63 kg.
On the way to the world champion title, she beat Snehal Ramesh Kaware (India) in the quarterfinals, caught a throw in the semifinals and won a clear victory over Tahereh Azarpeiwand (Iran), and in the final, in a bitter fight, she prevailed over Wang-Ting Lee (Taiwan) , who was awarded a silver medal.
The bronze medalists in this weight category were Iranian Tahereh Azarpeivand and Russian Vladlena Guseva.
The World Kurash Wrestling Championship takes place in Ashgabat from November 23 to 28.
