In Tajikistan today, November 24, is National Flag Day. This holiday was established in 2009 by decree of the President of the Republic Emomali Rahmon, reports MIR 24.
In honor of the holiday, a solemn ceremony of raising the flag of Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe. Representatives of government bodies, public organizations and youth took part in it. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated the citizens of the country on the holiday.
On this day, festive events are held in all cities and regions of Tajikistan. Schools and universities hold lessons and competitions dedicated to the history and symbolism of the flag of Tajikistan.
The national flag of Tajikistan is a rectangular panel consisting of three equal horizontal stripes: the top - red, the middle - white and the bottom - green.
Red color symbolizes freedom and independence, white - peace and tranquility, green - prosperity.
The flag of Tajikistan was adopted on November 24, 1992 at the XVI session of the Supreme Council of the republic.
