Robotic assistants called “robocats” have begun working in three Moscow hospitals. They act as couriers, can deliver food and medicine, accompany patients around the hospital and provide useful advice on maintaining health, reports “RIA Novosti” with reference to Moscow Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova.
The robots are equipped with several cameras that permit them to navigate in space. Two cameras at the bottom scan the environment 90 times per second, and another camera is aimed at the ceiling. 3D sensors permit the “robocats” to stop in front of any obstacle.
The mechanical animal works without recharging for a day.
